The most special Goma Prayer at Naritasan Shinshoji Temple is a Goma Fire Ritual where people’s prayers are offered to Fudomyoo in front of a consecrated fire. In the Heian period, the war-ridden Kanto region was quelled by a Goma prayer, which was performed by order of the then Emperor. This is said to be the origin of Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. For over 1000 years since its foundation, Naritasan Shinshoji Temple has continued performing Goma prayers every single day. It still prays to Fudomyoo to solve problems of visitors every day.
